When you schedule a private session, I tailor our time together to your individual needs.
Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced student, you can revitalize your practice with a personalized session or series. Hourly Rates
Single sessions: My hourly rate for single private sessions in your home or office is $100.
Series of Sessions: A series of sessions, scheduled and paid in advance, is discounted by ten percent. Call me for details.
Sliding Scale: If you cannot find a group to split the hourly rate, or your condition is one that requires one-on-one work, call me to discuss a sliding-scale rate based on what you can afford.
We will use phone or email to discuss your intentions, interests, and goals for your session(s) and any existing conditions or past injuries you've had. You will feel better after the first session!
Of course, be sure you have a doctor's go-ahead before beginning this or any other program that includes physical activity.
Yoga and Pilates are NOT substitutes for the care of a doctor, physical therapist, or other medical practitioner. They are excellent methods for maintaining health, building physical fitness, dealing with mental and emotional stress, and delving more deeply into one's philosophical and spiritual appraoches to life. They can also be useful when combined with Western approaches to healing the body from illness or injury, but you must talk to your medical professional about what we will be doing, and ask specifically whether it is good for you to:

You can also schedule sessions for small groups. I charge the same hourly rate for small groups as for individuals, so splitting the cost can make your sessions very affordable.
Small-group sessions can be held in a studio, home, workplace, or other suitable space. I bring props as needed. These sessions are a fantastic way to build common ground and have fun within the group, at the same time that you're strengthening the body and de-stressing the mind.

In an in-class private, you get the benefit of two teachers: As the class’s regular instructor cues the entire class through the sequence, I work with you individually to guide you through each and every movement and posture. I provide minor and major adjustments to adapt each posture to your body and ease areas of tension.
This physical guidance can allow you to let go of habits of movement and begin to redistribute muscular effort more effectively, instead of relying
solely on the muscles that habitually contract in your body.
The close attention encourages you to remain aware of your breathing and bodily experience at every point. From vigorous Sun Salutations, through standing, seated, and reclining postures, you are guided to develop strength, flexibility, balance, and concentration. In the final posture, Savasana, you are carefully adjusted and massaged to release physical and mental tension, allowing full and deep relaxation.
Sharon Gannon and David Life pioneered this technique of in-class individualized attention, which can be as therapeutic as a full body massage, releasing the tension that inhibits full freedom of movement.
